SCHOLARSHIPS & DISCOUNTS

Eligibility

  • Students applying for scholarships or discounts must meet the eligibility requirements to enroll in the EISC programs.
  • Students must meet the requirements set for each scholarship/discount.

Notes:

  • Please note that scholarships and discounts are available only for fee-paying visiting students. 
  • Please read the information and guidelines for each scholarship carefully and send applications to the International Foundation for Ewha Womans University.
  • Results on the scholarship selections will be made to the individual student directly.
  • Students may accept and receive ONLY ONE of the full scholarships. Students CANNOT receive multiple scholarships simultaneously (if students are awarded more than one scholarship, they will need to choose which one they wish to receive and forfeit the other/s).

Claire Kwi Hyun Kim Scholarship

Full tuition, application fee and housing fee(double room) support
The Clarie Kwi Hyun Kim Shcolarship Fund was establilshed in December, 2022 by Mrs. Clarie Kwi Hyun Kim ('56 English) in Silver Spring, MD.
This scholarship is for US students - perferabel students from MD, VA, and Washington DC area.

Gloria Hahn Memorial Scholarship 

Full tuition and application fee support
Dr. Richard Hahn established this memorial scholarship for his wife, Kim Ronyoung (Mrs. Gloria Hahn) in 1988.
Mrs. Hahn is the author of “Clay Walls”, the first novel written by a Korean-American about Korean immigrants to the USA during the early 20th century.

This scholarship is for Korean-American students who are currently residing in the United States.

Bishop SharonZ. Rader Scholarship 

Full tuition, application fee and housing fee(double room) support
For study at Ewha Womans University International Summer School
The board of International Foundation for Ewha W. University established a scholarship fund with the undesignated income from the 40th anniversary dinner in 2010 and named it Bishop Sharon Zimmerman Rader Scholarship to honor the love, dedication and leadership for Ewha she has shown in her presidency (2002-2014). It is for non-Korean American/Canadian students to study at Ewha’s International Summer School.

Drs. Ira & Chang Hyun Shin Geer Scholarship 

Full tuition, application fee and housing fee(double room) support
For study at Ewha Womans University International Summer School.
Drs. Ira & Cindy Chang Hyun Shin Geer established this scholarship. Dr. Cindy Chang Hyun Shin Geer (’57 Education) graduated from Ewha Womans University and the State University of New York, Buffalo, with Ph.D. in International Education (1981). She is the author of River of Faith – 40 years history of the International Foundation for Ewha W. University. This Scholarship supports the International Summer College students from developing countries.

Southern California Alumnae Summer School Scholarship 

Full tuition, application fee and housing fee(double room) support
The Southern California Alumnae Summer School Scholarship was established in November, 2015 by the Ewha University Alumnae Association of Southern California. This scholarship is for US students enrolled in accredited US college/university who want to study at Ewha International Summer College. Preferably residents in zip code 900XX – 928XX.

  • Students receiving the Glorida Hahn Memorial Scholarship, Southern California Alumnae Summer School Scholarship, Drs. Ira & Chang Hyun Shin Geer Scholarship and Bishop Sharon Z. Rader Scholarship must register for a minimum of 2 courses.

List of Discounts (for both Sessions 1 & 2)

Early Bird Discount
  • Session 1: (2 Courses) 300,000KRW tuition discount,  (1 Course) 100,000KRW tuition discount
  • Session 2: 200,000KRW tuition discount


    This scholarship is automatically available to students who complete the total application process, including submission of the online application and payment of the application & tuition fee and by March 20, 2025 for Session 1 and April 20, 2025 for Session 2.
Ewha Alumnae Discount
  • Session 1 and Session 2: 100,000KRW tuition discount

Exchange Student Discount
  • Session 1 and Session 2: 50% tuition discount


    This scholarship is available to students who are planning to come to Ewha as exchange students for the Fall 2025 semester or to those who are already enrolled as exchange students at Ewha.
  • Maximum cost of discount for Session 1 is 500,000 KRW for 2 Courses(if applicable for multiple discounts), and 100,000KRW for 1 Course(Early Bird Discount Only). 
  • Maximum cost of discount for Session 2 is 200,000 KRW.
