ACADEMIC POLICY

Evaluation

Session 1
For most courses, there will be a midterm exam, a final exam, and regular homework assignments. Exams will take place during normal class time, and the specifics of the exam will be announced by the instructor. Students will be graded on an ‘A+’ to‘F’ scale based on individual performance, not on a curve. The grades will be permanently set after the correction period.
Also, please note that any student who misses 1/3 or more of the class hours (equivalent to 15 hours or more) will automatically fail the course.

Session 2
Upon completion of Session 2 Introductory Korean Studies course, students shall be issued 3 credits. Attendance and participation will be comprehensively taken into account for the Pass or Fail evaluation. The course will be graded on a Pass/Fail scale. Any student who misses 1/3 or more of the class hours (equivalent to 15 hours or more) will automatically fail the course.

Credit Transfer

The EISC offers 3 credits per course; while most institutions accept the EISC credits, how the credit would transfer back is entirely up to the student's home institution. Students who wish to transfer credits back are strongly recommended to check with their home institution prior to applying and registering for a course.

Transcript

An official academic transcript will be issued and a scanned copy sent via email (to the student directly if they are a "visiting" student, and to the home university study abroad office if they are an "exchange" student) during or after September.  Students needing additional copies of their transcripts may put in a request via email to <service@ewha.ac.kr>; please note there may be fees incurred.
